Lady GaGa had given up drugs and didn't have time for man by the time she was 20 - her friend DJ Lady Starlight has revealed. Despite the Bad Romance star's previous claims to a life of wild partying and casual sex, the singer's friend DJ Lady Starlight has claimed that GaGa has been focussed on her music ever since they first met at the artist's 20th birthday party.
Starlight told British Daily Mirror: "I know she's talked about doing lots of drugs but by the time we met she had stopped all that. She didn't even have time for boyfriends."
The DJ also admitted that the pair experimented with fashion and regularly tried to create the wildest stage outfits they could dream up. She added: "We were very creative but the outfits were often stuck together with glue. Sometimes they fell apart when we were on stage."
Lady Gaga says her father saved her from drug addiction. The 'Poker Face' singer used to spend hours taking cocaine alone in her New York apartment, until her dad Joseph Germanotta ordered her to get clean. Gaga began regularly using the illegal substance after she dropped out of a music course at New York University in 2005. ‘I don't like to talk about it too much but there were drugs, serious drugs,’ she tells Contact Music. 'I have such a fear of failure; I didn't want anything to make me fail. So I stopped.'I still drink and party, but there's no darkness now. Just a lot of fun.’
